This was a battleship’s broken hip
Ground in the gears of a power trip

Cuz this was the place where the vultures
And cultures collided with arrogance
Caught up in their own Devil’s Dance

Here was the home of the tease
And the land of the slightly incompetent
Yet mistaken for prominent

Cuz we had a business that passed as a church

Seduced into membership
Cuz this was America (but, was this ‘my America?’)

That got all those hounds selling blasphemy
